About Me
RIDING ATV's.... my obsession........
I began riding ATV's over 15 years ago with my friend Dave Milam and his father, Dave Sr. They had a pair of Honda
ATC 185's that we would ride at his families cabin in Big Trees Village and on the nearby FS road 7NO9. Many thanks go out
to the Milam family for getting me into this awesome sport!
This hobby became an obsession early on and since then I have owned 5 quads. The first was a 1990 Yamaha Blaster
which was quickly out grown but provided many years of fun. Years later I bought a 1997 Yamaha Banshee. In 2001, I
sold the pair to concentrate on getting into my current profession. In 2004, the new 450's started becoming very popular
and racing ATV's was making a comeback which prompted a purchase of a new 2005 Yamaha YFZ450. In 2007 a Yamaha
Raptor was purchased for trail riding. After realizing a back-up race machine was needed, the Raptor was sold and a 2nd
2008 YFZ450 was acquired. So, as you can see, I'm a Yamaha kind of person. Whether it's camping and riding trails in the
forest, or playing in the sand at Pismo, (when it's not choppy or packed with campers), it is a great way to spend time with
family and friends. I've yet to discover the awesomeness of Glamis, or the Oregon coast, but they are on my "to do" list. I
love the outdoors, and the different scenery of the different trail systems, State OHV parks and sand play grounds. Either
way, I'm good with just enjoying what our lands have to offer.. I can't wait to teach my girls how to do a 2nd gear start!
Racing ATV'S.......My Passion.........
It all began in 2004. I heard of this "1st annual beach race" going on at Pismo Beach. I entered in the 15-29 year old class,
and managed a16th place finish due to running out of fuel about 500 yards from the finish. I got towed across the finish by
the track crew, but none the less finished. (Lesson Learned). Despite my finish, I couldn't wait for the "2nd annual beach race"
and my stock YFZ began transforming into an MX machine. CCMA (Central Coast Motorcycle Association) was the original
organization running the Pismo Beach Race in 2004 and 2005. In 2006 for the "3rd Annual Beach Race", this time with help
from WORCS running the event, I took 4th place in the Vet +30 C Class.

Following that race, I knew I was finally hooked into racing, which led me to compete in various local MX races.
In 2007 WORCS exclusively ran the "4th annual beach race" and I placed 1st of 52 riders in the Vet 30 C class. In 2008
I entered in the 30 B class in round 2 of the WORCS series in Mesquite, NV. After finishing in 1st for that race, I was given
the option to move to the A class and take a 3rd place finish. There's something about the structure of a WORCS race that
I like, plus it's just plain FUN!! Future plans include:, continuing to race to the best of my ability, race in as many local MX
races as possible and to complete an entire WORCS series.
To all my sponsors, past and present, THANK YOU!!! I couldn't do it with out your support. And to all my friends at
Nor-Cal Atv.com, thank you for the endless on-line laughs, great racing attitudes, track side smack talk,in-between the
Moto food sharing, but most of all, a site that we all can share information and stories of our common passion.
FireFighter.......My Profession.........
I began my career as a professional Firefighter in 2002. The cliché sticks when I say that "It is the best job.....ever!". A year
later I became a Paramedic/Firefighter. Everyday at work is a different day. For me, it's not just about putting fires out
(Which is fun, don't get me wrong), or helping a sick or injured person. It's the self satisfaction that I get knowing I can
help a complete stranger, making a difference, and working with my crews as a team to accomplish a common goal
whatever the task may be. As Firefighters, we learn from each other, both knowledge, and experience, and grow as
individuals outside the course material.
Whether it's training with a new Firefighter, or discussing racing tactics with other riders, I am constantly learning and
honing my own skills as a father, a Firefighter and an ATV racer. For prospective sponsors....... I believe in that a good
representative should have good work ethics, and someone who stands behind the product. I am a true believer in good
work ethics. The biggest one being goal oriented.
I enjoy racing and don't worry about finishing in 1st, but just finishing, (accomplishing the goal). With your help as my
sponsor, I believe that I could not only just finish, but finish well on a more consistent basis.
Thank you for your consideration.
